Stop Managing Reviews. Start Managing the Stay.
AI search is changing how guests find hotels, and it relies far more on what your guests say than on what your website says. In this talk from the Annual Hotel Conference in Manchester, Glenn Carey from Snapfix explains why your day-to-day operations now decide whether AI recommends your hotel.
AI search reads your reviews before it reads your website
For the last twenty years, hotels have invested heavily in paid search, SEO and OTA listings to climb the results page. AI search works differently. A Booking.com search returns hundreds of options, while ChatGPT returns three or four. In Glenn’s own test before the conference, the two lists had no hotels in common. Your hotel either makes that shortlist or it doesn’t appear at all.
40% of travellers already use AI tools somewhere in their trip planning, and 55% of what AI cites when recommending a hotel comes from reviews. The stay your guests actually had now carries more weight than anything your marketing promises, so every late room, broken AC or missed request shapes who gets recommended next.
Glenn started his career at 17 in a hotel in Swords, near Dublin Airport, and he brings that front-line view to the stage. He walks through what the numbers mean for revenue and rate, and the operational basics that turn consistent stays into consistent reviews, giving AI every reason to put your hotel forward.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
-
Why AI search and traditional booking sites recommend completely different hotels for the same city and dates, and why AI results have no page two
-
How AI checks your website against your guest reviews, and what happens when the two don’t match
-
What a stronger review score is worth: AI is 32% more likely to recommend a 4.7-rated hotel over a 3.9-rated one, and 76% of travellers say they’ll pay more for a hotel with a better score
-
The operational habits that stop negative reviews before they’re written, from planned maintenance that never slips to guest requests answered in minutes
-
How to keep standards consistent across every shift and property, so the guest experience never depends on who happens to be working

Account Executive at Snapfix
Glenn works closely with hotel operators day to day, and has seen firsthand how the small operational gaps guests never mention out loud are exactly the ones that show up in reviews.
In this session, Glenn will share what closing those gaps actually looks like on the ground, and why it matters more now than it used to.
Snapfix is just stupid simple. Red, yellow, green and that's it. Everybody's got a driver's license, so everybody already knows what that means. It's a big part of why adoption across every department has been so fast; and with the photos, the system doesn't care what language your team speaks, and that’s so important in hospitality.
"It didn't take more than half a day to configure Snapfix to our liking. The team was quick to help, but honestly, we could have done it ourselves. It was that easy."
